Global Journal of Digital Pathology & AI

What is Digital Pathology

A branch of pathology called "digital pathology" focuses on data management using data derived from digitalized specimen slides. Virtual microscopy is used in digital pathology thanks to computer-based technology. Slides made of glass are transformed into digital slides that may be controlled, shared, and examined on a computer screen. The field of digital pathology is expanding and has applications in diagnostic medicine with the use of Whole-Slide Imaging (WSI), which is another name for virtual microscopy, with the aim of achieving effective and affordable diagnoses, prognosis, and disease prediction due to the success in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

A wide range of clinical applications, including diagnosis of frozen sections, primary histopathological diagnosis, second opinion diagnosis, subspecialty pathology diagnosis, education, competency evaluation, and research, are currently being carried out using digital pathology.

In histology, pathology, oral pathology, oral histology, forensic medicine, veterinary pathology, zoology, botany, and other biological sciences, digital pathology technology is used. Here, we'll focus on applications in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and paramedicine.

·         Presentation in meetings, seminars, or symposiums

·         Slide boxes and departmental digital slide libraries

·         Medical Training

·         Pathology Analysis and Research

·         Competency evaluation

What Advantages Does Digital Pathology Offer?

For good reason, glass slides are here to stay. Pathology begins with a tissue sample. Even if the glass slides are later converted to a digital image, they still need to be made. However, modern pathology goes beyond scans or tissue. It's all about boosting quality, output, and other factors.

Take a look at how pathology is evolving today:Pathologists are in limited supply since more of them are retiring than are entering the field.As more people utilise digital technologies, quality and innovation have improved.

Modern pathology requires novel strategies. Pathologists lose out on advantages that cannot be attained with glass slides when they do not completely adopt digital pathology.

What is AI

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in pathology is made possible by rising levels of digitalization. However, these technologies have only recently started to be used, and AI-based diagnosis has not yet been demonstrated to be advantageous in randomized prospective trials. We introduce current concepts, illustrate them with examples from representative publications, and talk about the potential and restrictions of their application in this review.

The current focus of AI research in pathology is on regular diagnosis support and prognostication, notably for cancer patients. According to preliminary research, using a computer can help pathologists make a diagnosis more quickly and reliably.

About Journals

The improvement of disease diagnosis based on laboratory examination of bodily fluids like blood, urine, and tissue homogenates or extracts using the instruments of biochemistry, microbiology, hematology, and molecular pathology is one of the topics covered in the online, open-access journal Research Trends in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.

Submit Your Case Report: Global Journal of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention

Diabetes is a chronic condition that develops when the pancreas is unable to create insulin or when the body is unable to effectively utilize the insulin that is produced. The hormone insulin, which is produced by the pancreas, functions as a key to allow glucose from food to enter the body's cells where it may be used to make energy. All food containing carbohydrates breaks down into glucose in the body. Insulin facilitates glucose uptake by cells. The majority of the food you consume is converted by your body into sugar (glucose), which is then released into your bloodstream. Your pancreas releases insulin when your blood sugar levels rise. In order for blood sugar to enter your body's cells and be used as energy, insulin functions like a key. Types of Diabetes Type 1 Diabetes It is believed that an autoimmune reaction is what causes type 1 diabetes (the body attacks itself by mistake). Your body's production of insulin is stopped by this reaction. Type 1 diab
